Aw man, the journey has been winding up. I love it. Like a train pulling out of station.
People keep setting higher expectations and goals. They want the train to move faster, accelerate faster. And it's all challenges I want to meet. I actually get adrenaline pumping as I read the responses. And just hearing it makes me want to throw more coal into the engine.
But I'll stop the metaphor. And just say, that I'm actually looking forward to it. Rain or shine.

Episode 2 is out and I get to say goodbye to that "Beta" nonsense. Well, it wasn't nonsense. I wasn't actually flashing subliminal faces and messages at you for nothing. They do have meaning, and they will possibly come up again in later episodes. Even the seemingly arbitrary and meaningless buttons you've been voting on wasn't entirely for nothing. You don't have to seriously investigate it, I'm just saying it's designed and has purpose. Maybe wonder what was making that humming noise?

So, I'll schedule it. Episode 3: Oct 31st.... Good! Now, I can hold my self accountable to a release.

I'm not going to expose much yet, because I like surprises, and NOT ruining the fun. But I will say you can expect to see some faces for a change. I even have a tiny cut scene at the beginning of it. But most importantly this is where your choices begin to matter. They are going to start carrying a heavier weight. Why? Well because "you" as a player character will finally be adopted into the world. Deciding the fate of him will decide the fate of this game and us.

Anyway I'm excited. I'm gonna celebrate with cheeze-its and waffles.

DayNight is an RP/Episodic/Hive-mind/Visual Novel?...
...uh
Let that soak in. And Yes, it sounds like a focus group gone wrong. But to better explain, DayNight will be a community driven story experience. Each episode will present the player with a set of choices. Then the next episode will build on the choices the players made "as a group" from the previous episode. The hive-mind.

If I had the time and money, I would definitely be interested in a full fledged visual novel, with 6-10 unique endings. However I have none of those things. So I'll only be offering 1 ending. But that's the point. Offering. You could imagine it like your first play through of mass effect. You only saw one ending. But you, as the player, knew mass effect had more than one ending. So you play it again, to explore more of what the world and it's characters had within its files. I will be offering the same choices and options, BUT, we'll only be playing the game once. I offer the vastness, and the web of choices I have planned and even then some, but I will make one line of that web. You decide where the line goes.

I hope it will be outright fun for the people involved. When it's over you'll be left to wonder, what it would have been like if everyone hadn't screwed up the romance with "so and so". Or what would have happened if the players had told me to stay and fight during a scene, instead of running away. Or maybe if the final episode releases and we get a "bad" karma ending, what would the story have been like if the community had voted "good" karma?
