DayNight is an RP/Episodic/Hive-mind/Visual Novel?...
...uh
Let that soak in. And Yes, it sounds like a focus group gone wrong. But to better explain, DayNight will be a community driven story experience. Each episode will present the player with a set of choices. Then the next episode will build on the choices the players made "as a group" from the previous episode. The hive-mind.
If I had the time and money, I would definitely be interested in a full fledged visual novel, with 6-10 unique endings. However I have none of those things. So I'll only be offering 1 ending. But that's the point. Offering. You could imagine it like your first play through of mass effect. You only saw one ending. But you, as the player, knew mass effect had more than one ending. So you play it again, to explore more of what the world and it's characters had within its files. I will be offering the same choices and options, BUT, we'll only be playing the game once. I offer the vastness, and the web of choices I have planned and even then some, but I will make one line of that web. You decide where the line goes.
I hope it will be outright fun for the people involved. When it's over you'll be left to wonder, what it would have been like if everyone hadn't screwed up the romance with "so and so". Or what would have happened if the players had told me to stay and fight during a scene, instead of running away. Or maybe if the final episode releases and we get a "bad" karma ending, what would the story have been like if the community had voted "good" karma?
